阿爾弗雷德親自出面，把英國和德國的政要全請到倫敦羅家的晚宴上，讓德國方面以一種“友好、私密和非官方”的方式大吐苦水，訴說在中國問題上受的委屈。那邊匯豐銀行正暴跳如雷，指責德華銀行背信棄義，奈提趕忙在漢斯曼和匯豐銀行之間調(diào)停斡旋。一番忙活之后，1898年9月初，銀行家和政客終于一起坐到了倫敦的會議桌邊，就中國鐵路權(quán)的劃分達成協(xié)議，英國銀行家占揚子江沿線，德國銀行家管山東半島的鐵路，天津到秦皇島鐵路由兩家平分。奈提高調(diào)重申“在中國的商業(yè)利益上，德國總理誠懇地愿意與英國以及美國和日本聯(lián)合”。\[20\]

協(xié)議是達成了，爭端、猜忌和矛盾卻從沒停止過。1900年，德國在義和團運動后向中國出兵，俄國則直接占了滿洲里，兩邊眼看著又要擦起火花，雙方都找羅斯柴爾德去傳話。羅家一邊向英國政府傳遞“俄國人保證不開戰(zhàn)”的信兒，一邊牽線搭橋讓英國和德國簽署了關(guān)于中國問題的新一輪協(xié)議，維持清王朝完整并促其“開放國門”同外國進行貿(mào)易。在羅家一手運作下，英國和德國在中國的利益分配上達到空前的政治合作。1902年奈提和漢斯曼又在柏林組織銀行家們開了個會，組成北京辛迪加（壟斷組織形式之一），專門針對在中國進行商業(yè)合作的問題。在這一系列問題上，英國、德國和俄國都把羅斯柴爾德視為“最安全和有效的外交交流渠道”。

羅斯柴爾德家族作為世界金融霸主早在19世紀末就開始進入中國，對中國的政治、經(jīng)濟和戰(zhàn)爭的進程都產(chǎn)生過深遠的影響。1979年，羅家再度進入中國。只是這一次，他們來的“悄無聲息”。
