This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Workshop on Digital Mammography, IWDM 2006, held in Manchester, UK in June 2006.The 52 revised full papers and 34 revised poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions for inclusion in the book. The papers are organized in topical sections on breast density, CAD, clinical practice, tomosynthesis, registration and multiple view mammmography, physics models, wavelet methods, full-field digital mammography, and segmentation.
