新聞與輿論：羅伯特·E.帕克論文選

　　本書是美國(guó)著名社會(huì)學(xué)家羅伯特·帕克關(guān)于新聞研究的文集。全書包含9篇文章，收錄于帕克的論文集Society： Collective Behavior， News and Opinion， and Sociology andModern Society。本書選譯的9篇文章來自該論文集的第二部分Newsand Opinion，這一組論文分別題為：（1）《作為一種知識(shí)的新聞》（News as a form ofknowledge，1940）；（2）《報(bào)紙的自然歷史》（The natural history ofthe newspaper，1925）；（3）《新聞與人情味故事》（News and the humaninterest story，1940）；（4）《新聞與報(bào)界權(quán)力》（News and the power of thepress，1941）；（5）《士氣與新聞》（Morale and the news，1941）；（6）《輿論與社會(huì)服務(wù)》（Public opinion and socialservice，1918）；（7）《移民社群與移民報(bào)刊》（Immigrant community andimmigrant press，1925）；（8）《外語(yǔ)報(bào)刊》（Foreign language press，1920）；（9）《美國(guó)的報(bào)紙文獻(xiàn)》（American newspaperliterature，1927）。最后一篇是有關(guān)美國(guó)的報(bào)紙研究文獻(xiàn)，其余篇章則關(guān)乎新聞、報(bào)刊與輿論等主題。這組論文中所蘊(yùn)含的思想觀點(diǎn)及其啟發(fā)性并不遜色于帕克的最廣為人知的作品《移民報(bào)刊及其控制》，甚至可以說，它們?cè)谒枷胄苑矫姹冗@部專著還更為多元和豐富。
