  《道德情操論》是斯密的倫理學(xué)著作,首次出版于1759年,斯密去世前共出版過六次。該書創(chuàng)作于斯密的另一本著作《國(guó)富論》之前,是斯密反復(fù)修訂至最滿意的作品,其中不僅包含了他在狹義的道德問題上的系統(tǒng)認(rèn)識(shí),還包含了非常豐富的關(guān)于人類社會(huì)行為的思想。全書由七卷構(gòu)成,主要闡釋道德情感的本質(zhì)和道德評(píng)價(jià)的性質(zhì)。斯密在該書中繼承了哈奇遜的道德感學(xué)說(shuō)和休謨的同情論思想,并形成了自己的道德情感理論。他反對(duì)神學(xué)家用天啟來(lái)說(shuō)明道德的根源,而把他認(rèn)為是人本性中所有的同情的情感作為闡釋道德的基礎(chǔ)。他用同情的原理來(lái)解釋人類正義感和其它一切道德情感的根源,來(lái)說(shuō)明道德評(píng)價(jià)的性質(zhì),并以此為基礎(chǔ)表明各種基本美德的特征。斯密在《道德情操論》中所闡述的不少論斷都可以作為思想資源引入行為經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)和實(shí)驗(yàn)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的發(fā)展之中??梢哉f(shuō)這部篇幅不長(zhǎng)的著作對(duì)后世的很多領(lǐng)域都產(chǎn)生了重大影響

作者簡(jiǎn)介

  亞當(dāng)·斯密出生于1723年的蘇格蘭,是經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的主要?jiǎng)?chuàng)立者。他早年在家鄉(xiāng)求學(xué),在格拉斯哥大學(xué)時(shí)期,完成了拉丁語(yǔ)、希臘語(yǔ)、數(shù)學(xué)和倫理學(xué)等課程。之后赴牛津?qū)W院,在那里閱讀大量書籍。1750年后,斯密在格拉斯哥大學(xué)擔(dān)任邏輯學(xué)和道德哲學(xué)教授,并于1759年出版《道德情操論》,獲得學(xué)術(shù)界極高評(píng)價(jià)。于1768年開始著手著述《國(guó)民財(cái)富的性質(zhì)和原因的研究》(即《國(guó)富論》),至1773年基本完成,1776年3月此書出版后引起大眾廣泛的討論,影響所及除了英國(guó)本地,連歐洲大陸和美洲也為之瘋狂,因此世人尊稱斯密為“現(xiàn)代經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)之父”。
