　　2012年以傅振國(guó)為代表的一批學(xué)者狀告《現(xiàn)代漢語(yǔ)詞典》第6版違法收錄239個(gè)字母詞。此次事件不但折射出許多學(xué)者長(zhǎng)期以來(lái)對(duì)英語(yǔ)入侵漢語(yǔ)的擔(dān)憂(yōu)，同時(shí)也反映了一些學(xué)者對(duì)詞典編纂缺乏專(zhuān)業(yè)且深入的認(rèn)識(shí)。字母詞在中國(guó)是否真的已經(jīng)發(fā)展到如眾學(xué)者所擔(dān)憂(yōu)的造成漢語(yǔ)岌岌可危的地步？《現(xiàn)漢》收錄字母詞果真不可取嗎？規(guī)范型漢語(yǔ)語(yǔ)文詞典和英漢、漢英雙語(yǔ)語(yǔ)文詞典該如何正確地收錄和定義字母詞？《現(xiàn)代漢語(yǔ)詞典》將在認(rèn)知社會(huì)語(yǔ)言學(xué)框架下，通過(guò)探尋字母詞及其漢字同義詞的生存狀態(tài)來(lái)嘗試回答上述問(wèn)題。字母詞的產(chǎn)生和發(fā)展屬于詞匯變異和發(fā)展的研究范疇。任何詞匯變異和發(fā)展都遵循語(yǔ)言變異和發(fā)展的總體規(guī)律，字母詞也不例外。字母詞的產(chǎn)生源自語(yǔ)言經(jīng)濟(jì)原則（economy）和語(yǔ)言表現(xiàn)力（expressivity）雙重因素的作用，其形成機(jī)制雖依循語(yǔ)言變異的總體機(jī)制，但有其具體表現(xiàn)。字母詞產(chǎn)生之后，將在變異和發(fā)展的第二階段，即變體選擇階段，與其形式稱(chēng)名變體漢字同義詞為進(jìn)一步生存而產(chǎn)生競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。要對(duì)字母詞及其漢字同義詞的產(chǎn)生以及在變體選擇階段的生存狀況有充分的認(rèn)識(shí)，就必須全面考察字母詞及其漢字同義詞的詞匯結(jié)構(gòu)、詞匯產(chǎn)生機(jī)制、字母詞和漢字同義詞的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)結(jié)果以及影響競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的因素。為此，《字母詞的稱(chēng)名學(xué)研究及其對(duì)詞典編纂的啟示》引入了認(rèn)知社會(huì)語(yǔ)言學(xué)框架下的稱(chēng)名學(xué)（onomasiology）研究模式。該模式的認(rèn)知社會(huì)語(yǔ)言學(xué)背景使其具備了傳統(tǒng)稱(chēng)名學(xué)在詞匯變異研究方面所不具備的優(yōu)越性，為詞匯變異中的稱(chēng)名變異（onomasiological variation）研究提供了定性和定量?jī)煞N分析視角。
