北京保衛(wèi)戰(zhàn)（英文）

　　2003年春的中國(guó)北京，如同一座恐怖之城、瘟疫之城和面臨死亡之城。于是出現(xiàn)了許許多多“奇怪而可笑”的事：在與北京接壤的地方——河北廊坊某地段的公路上，有人竟然用挖土機(jī)挖了一個(gè)深二十多米、寬三十多米的巨型大坑，說(shuō)是“為了防止北京城里開(kāi)過(guò)來(lái)的汽車”，所有北京方向來(lái)的汽車在這個(gè)地方只能往回走。有一個(gè)村莊，過(guò)去一直靠開(kāi)農(nóng)家樂(lè)而賺足北京城里人的錢的農(nóng)民們。這會(huì)兒他們害怕染上瘟疫的北京城里人跑到他們那兒，所以發(fā)動(dòng)全村力量，三天之內(nèi)在村莊四周筑起一道高3米、長(zhǎng)幾公里的圍墻，將整個(gè)村莊全部包在里面，進(jìn)出只有兩個(gè)門口，門口設(shè)有崗哨，而且佩戴著菜刀和鐵棒，見(jiàn)陌生人闖進(jìn)來(lái)就立即抓了關(guān)進(jìn)小屋隔絕。如果一聽(tīng)說(shuō)是北京城里來(lái)的人，那就不管三七二十一就往外趕…… 本書通過(guò)2003年非典肆虐時(shí)期作者深入北京各個(gè)“抗非”的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)所獲取的第一手采訪資料以及親身經(jīng)歷，真實(shí)地記錄了首都北京在非典爆發(fā)時(shí)所經(jīng)歷的驚心動(dòng)魄的一段生死記憶，向人們揭開(kāi)了“抗非”一線的真實(shí)情況。 In the spring of 2003， Beijing found itself staring death in the face in the midst of a terrifying epidemic. A number of strange and surprising stories arose as a result. In the city of Langfang in neighboring Hebei province， people dug a twenty-meter deep， thirty-meter wide pit in the road， saying it was to prevent Beijingers from driving through the area， forcing them to turn around. One village relied on tourism from Beijing to earn money. Terrified by the possibility of contracting disease from fleeing Beijingers， villagers worked to erect a three-meter high fence encircling the village， with only two doorways for entry and exit. The doorways had manned sentry towers， where villagers stood guard with kitchen knifes and iron rods， ready to chase away strangers. When they heard that the people approaching were from Beijing， they drove them off， taking no heed of their protestations... The Battle of Beijing takes author He Jianming's first-hand experience and interviews with people in every aspect of the battle against SARS to create a true account of the horrors of the SARS epidemic.

　　何建明，當(dāng)代著名作家，蘇州人。現(xiàn)任中國(guó)作協(xié)副主席，中國(guó)報(bào)告文學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)。三次中國(guó)文學(xué)zui高獎(jiǎng)——“魯迅文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)”獲得者；三次“徐遲報(bào)告文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)”得主；四次中宣部“五個(gè)一工程獎(jiǎng)”獲得者；國(guó)家圖書獎(jiǎng)、中華優(yōu)秀讀物獎(jiǎng)獲得者。已出版文學(xué)著作近五十部，電影電視作品八部。 He Jianming， a well-known author of reportage literature， has been awarded the Lu Xun Literature Prize three times， the National Excellent Reportage Prize seven times， and the Xu Chi Reportage Prize four times. His main works include The Country， Fidelity and Betrayal， Fundamental Interests， and Falling Tears are Gold. He is additionally the author of the filmscripts Westbound Convict Train and Folksong Xintianyou， and the TV series Founders and National Action. He has published over 50 works of literature， including over 30 works of literary reportage， which have been translated into dozens of languages. He is vice president of the China Writers’ Association.
