　　《中國新近紀犀牛》（鄧濤著，陳瑜繪）詳述了中國新近紀犀牛化石的分類、演化、產地、地層、年代、生態(tài)、行為、環(huán)境演變等內容，同時涉及化石的發(fā)現(xiàn)過程和研究歷史等知識，配以大量藝術性與科學性俱佳的解剖素描圖和形態(tài)復原圖。書中包含中國已知新近紀的全部犀類化石，并對各個物種進行系統(tǒng)的修正厘定，歸并了大量此前較為混亂的同物異名，是反映中國新近紀犀牛化石全面研究成果的科技著作。因為犀牛并非僅限于新近紀的地區(qū)性起源與演化，本書也在時間上涉及古近紀和第四紀，在空間上涉及世界范圍內犀牛的適應輻射、繁盛興旺和衰退滅絕過程，向讀者展示更廣闊的科學視野。In the book Chinese Neogene Rhinoceroses that wrote by Prof. Deng Tao and illustrated by Chen Yu， the taxonomy， evolution， localities， stratigraphy， age， ecology， behaviors， and environments of this specific rhinoceros taxon are described and discussed， and the discovery processes and research history of these rhinoceros fossils are also involved， illustrating with a large number of artistic， scientific anatomical drawings and morphological restoration pictures. In this book， all the known Chinese Neogene rhinoceroses are included， each species is defined and revised systematically， and a number of synonymies are referred to valid taxa， so it is a scientific publication reflecting updated and well-rounded research findings on the Chinese Neogene rhinoceroses. Because the origin and evolution of the Chinese Neogene rhinoceroses were not restricted regionally， the adaptive radiation， flourishing， declining， and extinction of rhinoceroses in the world from Paleogene to Quaternary are introduced， showing a broader scientific perspective to readers. 作者簡介

　　鄧濤：博士，中國科學院古脊椎動物與古人類研究所副所長、研究員。畢業(yè)于北京大學古生物學專業(yè)，國家有突出貢獻中青年專家，中國古生物學會副理事長，全國地層委員會常委，《古脊椎動物學報》副主編。主要從事晚新生代哺乳動物、陸相地層和環(huán)境演變研究，領導和參與了一系列卓有成效的新近紀野外考察工作，發(fā)現(xiàn)極為豐富的哺乳動物化石，在系統(tǒng)古生物學和生物地層學方面取得豐碩成果，并提供更多的證據闡明青藏高原在晚新生代的強烈隆升及其對氣候環(huán)境演變的巨大影響。已發(fā)表學術論文160余篇，并出版大量科普文章和圖書。陳瑜（繪畫）：中國科學院古脊椎動物與古人類研究所科學繪師。畢業(yè)于天津工藝美術學院影視動畫專業(yè)，自幼對古生物興趣濃厚，特別對古哺乳動物和龜鱉類的專業(yè)知識有較為深刻的認識和了解，能繪制高水準、風格鮮明的古生物復原圖。他的復原圖得到諸多國內外學者和相關機構的好評，多次被中國、美國、新西蘭、意大利、西班牙等國學者用于學術報告、科普會議、學術論文以及博物館建設，并用作許多圖書的科學插圖。
