　　本書主要分為中國建筑史研究、外國建筑史研究、風景園林與城市研究，以及現代建筑理論研究。

作者簡介

　　劉先覺，東南大學建筑學院教授，博士生導師。1931 年12 月生，安徽合肥人。1953 年畢業(yè)于南京工學院建筑系，1956 年清華大學建筑系研究生畢業(yè)，師從著名建筑學家梁思成先生。此后長期從事建筑歷史與理論的教學和研究工作，并是中國建筑學會史學分會的理事，南京近現代建筑保護專家委員會主任，意大利國際城市建筑研究中心研究員。曾在1981—1982 年任美國耶魯大學訪問學者。1987 年曾任瑞士蘇黎世工業(yè)大學建筑學院客座教授，并應邀到羅馬大學、佛羅倫薩大學與英國諾丁漢大學講學，同時還曾進行了國際合作項目的研究。主要著作包括：《外國建筑簡史》、《生態(tài)建筑學》、《現代建筑理論》、《中國近現代建筑藝術》、《密斯·凡德羅建筑專集》、《阿爾瓦·阿爾托建筑專集》、《澳門建筑文化遺產》、《歷史·建筑·歷史》、《中國近代建筑總覽·南京篇》、《建筑藝術世界》、《世界室內設計史》（譯著）、《建筑美學》（譯著）、《現代建筑》（譯著）、《蘇州古典園林》（參編）等30 余本，已發(fā)表論文百余篇。
