提高英語實際應(yīng)用能力，尤其是口語表達(dá)能力是當(dāng)代大學(xué)英語教與學(xué)的一個重點。學(xué)生在英語口語學(xué)習(xí)中遇到的諸多困難和問題，促成了我們這套《加速英語口語》的誕生。這套口語教材平衡并揉合了中外師資的優(yōu)勢，語言真實自然、準(zhǔn)確地道，既貼近中國大學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)生活實際，又適當(dāng)反映了西方的校園和社會生活；既生動地呈現(xiàn)了網(wǎng)聊、網(wǎng)上購物等當(dāng)今社會的熱門話題，又廣泛涉及學(xué)生的大學(xué)校園生活和未來求職、工作的許多方面，實用性相當(dāng)強。本書改變目前很多英語口語教材詞匯量小、內(nèi)容空洞的缺點，將豐富的詞匯、實用的語法句子結(jié)構(gòu)融合在真實生動的對話場景中，輔以對話和討論等多種練習(xí)方式，使學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)口語對話的同時，有效地掌握更多實用詞匯和語法結(jié)構(gòu)，并快速提高英語寫作水平。在每個單元后面的Beware-common problems列出了學(xué)生常犯的語言錯誤，有利于學(xué)生及時糾正；Difference between British English and American English又把每單元涉及到的英美英語差別列出，方便學(xué)生對照。這些也是其他口語教材所不具備的內(nèi)容。此外，“自我評估”（selfevaluation）部分，能使學(xué)生和老師對學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)程有個大致的了解，并有利于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的自主學(xué)習(xí)能力和自我管理自我評估的元認(rèn)知能力。每個單元后面還介紹了與課文相關(guān)的中西方文化差異方面的知識，以提高學(xué)生的文化適應(yīng)能力。本教材分為一、二兩冊，第一冊包括10個單元，第二冊包括12個單元，每個單元有2-6個不同的對話場景。本書語言的難度適中，適用對象廣泛：可以作為大學(xué)低年級英語專業(yè)和高年級非英語專業(yè)學(xué)生的英語口語教材，不但對通過四、六級考試很有幫助，也對那些有志于出國留學(xué)，或是單純提高口語水平的自學(xué)者深有裨益。本書在歷時3年多的編寫和反復(fù)修改過程中，承蒙眾位專家的賜教，特別是有幸得到國內(nèi)外英語教育界知名專家——鄭樹棠教授的指點，在此深表謝意。
