　　本書是由英國(guó)曼徹斯特大學(xué)科技學(xué)院講師、翻譯與跨文化研究中心碩士課程指導(dǎo)教師梅芙·奧洛漢主編的一本論文集，共收錄了來(lái)自歐、美、澳以及其他國(guó)家與地區(qū)譯學(xué)研究者的論文16篇。這些文章之所以可以合為一集是因?yàn)樗麄兙c赫爾基辛大學(xué)的翻譯學(xué)教授安德魯·切斯特曼所提出的三種譯學(xué)研究模式有關(guān)。切斯特曼在1998年曾提出過(guò)譯學(xué)研究的三種模式：比較模式、過(guò)程模式、因果模式。他認(rèn)為這些模式是研究者必須面對(duì)的，是一種前理論性的準(zhǔn)備。選擇了哪一種模式，就意味著選擇了哪一種研究方法，從而也影響著最終所形成的理論樣態(tài)。切斯特曼的這一模式理論對(duì)譯學(xué)研究很有意義，也有較為廣泛的影響，引起了不同國(guó)度譯學(xué)學(xué)者的關(guān)注，并紛紛撰文對(duì)此進(jìn)行討論。本書就使得一些分散的相關(guān)性研究得以集中，從而讓讀者更為系統(tǒng)和深入地了解切斯特曼的模式理論。切斯特曼的模式理論是以文本為內(nèi)容的認(rèn)知性研究，正如本書的副標(biāo)題所示。本書共收錄來(lái)自歐、美、澳以及其他國(guó)家與地區(qū)譯學(xué)研究者的論文16篇，以模式理論為核心，并以對(duì)其的多元研究而廣泛展開，不僅向人們闡明了該理論的嚴(yán)密性與實(shí)踐指向性，還向人們展示了其豐富的內(nèi)涵及對(duì)不同視角與方法的包容性。本文集關(guān)注譯學(xué)內(nèi)部研究，強(qiáng)調(diào)對(duì)翻譯活動(dòng)的認(rèn)知性研究，具有很強(qiáng)的方法論意義。同時(shí)還將語(yǔ)料庫(kù)語(yǔ)言學(xué)的研究引入譯學(xué)研究，對(duì)翻譯研究者有很強(qiáng)的啟發(fā)性。
