　　Jiang Jinsong is now Associate Fellow of the Political Science Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He has been studying representative systems for a long time and is well versed with the fundamentals of representative systems， arousing attention from both the general readership and academic specialists for his previously published monographs， History of the United States' Congress and The Mother of Parliaments. Being a staff researcher for the National People's Congress of China for twelve years， he is familiar with the actual operation of the NPC system. He gives full play to his own advantages and draws on academic achievements of Chinese and non-Chinese scholars of the NPC to produce a thorough study about the establishment，change， reform and actual operation of the NPC， and has succeeded in producing a book of nearly 300，000 English words describing the National People's Congress of China. In this book the author articulates a comprehensive examination of "The National People's Congress system model of China，" analyses its creation and vitalization， explains its characteristics and the actual operation of the model. The author communicates a sense of history and a view of the whole without sacrificing specificity and details. He offers his creative views on a series of critical questions.Currently the author is engaged in a year-long visiting study of the US congressional system at the Brookings Institution， Washington D.C.， USA. He is completing work he has pursued since 1992 and is writing his fourth book on German Constitution and Parliamentary System.
