　　《基礎(chǔ)英語(yǔ)教程》第三、四冊(cè)是根據(jù)教育部最新大綱編寫的，教材體現(xiàn)了高校英語(yǔ)專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的改革成果。新大綱規(guī)定，英語(yǔ)教學(xué)無(wú)論在形式和內(nèi)容上，都應(yīng)反映時(shí)代特色，都應(yīng)具有創(chuàng)新精神。在形式上，本教材要求任課教師使用交際法授課，將以往精讀課的單向交流，即教師的一言堂，改為教師和學(xué)生之間的雙向交流，盡可能加大學(xué)生的參與。本教材注重對(duì)學(xué)生的綜合能力和各種英語(yǔ)技巧的培養(yǎng)，即教師通過(guò)聽向?qū)W生提供閱讀課文所需要的信息，學(xué)生之間通過(guò)討論理解課文，學(xué)生通過(guò)寫作加深對(duì)課文及課文涉及話題的理解。該教學(xué)方法的使用改變了以往精讀課單純強(qiáng)調(diào)語(yǔ)法結(jié)構(gòu)分析及詞匯使用的弊端，使學(xué)生在理解課文文字表面意義的基礎(chǔ)上，結(jié)合自己的背景知識(shí)和切身經(jīng)歷，通過(guò)與同伴的討論加深對(duì)文章作者的深層含義的理解，使他們的學(xué)習(xí)從淺層空間發(fā)展到深層空間。在內(nèi)容上，取消了以往精讀教材中的句型替換練習(xí)，增加了口語(yǔ)練習(xí)和討論。在每一課的開始是“warm-up”練習(xí)，旨在活躍課堂氣氛，為學(xué)生對(duì)下面課文的理解做準(zhǔn)備。課文則都是難度適中、未經(jīng)過(guò)改寫的文章，以便學(xué)生感受到真實(shí)的英語(yǔ)，避免他們對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中使用語(yǔ)言的錯(cuò)誤推斷。名家名篇和能反映當(dāng)代英語(yǔ)特點(diǎn)的文章同時(shí)使用，使學(xué)生既能學(xué)習(xí)和欣賞經(jīng)典作品中優(yōu)美嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)恼Z(yǔ)言，又能從當(dāng)代作家的作品中感受到英語(yǔ)的時(shí)代氣息，從而對(duì)英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的發(fā)展有充分的認(rèn)識(shí)。課文所涉及的主題涵蓋新大綱中所要求的主題，并能反映學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)生活和興趣，以提高他們的參與程度。課后練習(xí)的設(shè)計(jì)也本著實(shí)用的原則，除了幫助學(xué)生鞏固已有的語(yǔ)法和語(yǔ)言知識(shí)，還幫助他們熟悉面臨的英語(yǔ)專業(yè)四級(jí)考試的形式，如聽寫、完形填空、多項(xiàng)選擇等。練習(xí)還加入了適合中國(guó)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的內(nèi)容，如名篇背育，其目的的是提高學(xué)生的欣賞水平和英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)感。
